Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk square off for the undisputed championship, and the tension builds before their epic fight; additionally, Usyk's weight announcement gaffe is exposed. Watch Fury vs. Usyk live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday.
Before Oleksandr Usyk's weight caused problems during their final fight, which will take place on Saturday and be televised live on Sky Sports Box Office, Tyson Fury gave him a shove in the back.
Usyk's promoter has revealed to Sky Sports that the Ukrainian's weight was mispronounced during the main event, following a dramatic weigh-in on Friday night in Riyadh.
According to early reports, the undisputed champion of the WBO, WBA, and IBF weighed 233½lbs (16st 9lbs), which is by far the most that Usyk has ever weighed.
However, according to his promoter Alex Krassyuk of Sky Sports, he should have weighed 223 pounds (15 stone 13 pounds), which is 10 pounds less than what was previously stated.Even still, Usyk's career high is still only two pounds behind that.In comparison to his previous fight, in which he weighed a career-high 262 pounds (18 st 10 lbs) for his non-title match against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in October, Fury was substantially lighter for this match.
Fury had refused to look Usyk in the eye during the last press conference the day before, preventing a staredown.
This time, he gave in without a fight, approaching Usyk and pushing him. The two combatants and their entourages needed to be split up, so they could not continue to square off for much longer.
